PADI Divemaster Internship and Adventure Guide, Tenerife

If you’ve ever dreamt of escaping the 9 to 5 and making diving your life, then here’s a real chance to make it happen! Xwander’s Divemaster internship program offers you a fantastic opportunity to train as a Divemaster and begin your career in the diving industry. Once you successfully complete the Divemaster program you’ll have a chance to become a full-time member of the Xwander dive team, living and working in sunny Tenerife as part of a growing international company with great colleagues.

What you will learn

You will train alongside our experienced dive instructors and be an important member of our dive team.

As part of your training you can expect to: take part in dive site briefings, pool dives, planning excursions, filling tanks, testing new equipment, performing product reviews and video shooting, help with dive courses and discover scuba diving programs, guide certified divers, work as a snorkel guide, sell dive trips and even lead some of our other activities.

We will teach you the ins and outs of working in the dive industry, which means gaining a variety of skills both in and out of the water. You will learn how to organize your own tours and activities, become a competent and professional diver and even learn about business management.

You will have a chance to work independently, as part of an experienced team, knowing that you can always get help and support whenever needed. Perhaps most importantly, you will work in a fun environment with great people, doing a job where every day is different, always facing new challenges and learning new things. Xwander is like a family and the company arranges many activities for the staff members, such as the infamous “pizza fridays”.

It will be a fantastic and rewarding experience, but one that also requires hard work, discipline and dedication.

Explore many other activities

One of the benefits of working with Xwander is that we have a really diverse range of activities taking place all over Tenerife, and as an intern, you will get a chance to be involved in many of them. Depending on your experience and preferences, you could be assisting our guides on our other activities too, including hiking, mountain biking, trail running, surfing, and climbing.

Test the latest equipment and shoot product videos

We work closely with our partner, the online retailer Divestock, which means we have a constant supply of excellent dive equipment. One part of your role will involve testing and reviewing this equipment and taking part in product video shoots.

And if that wasn’t enough…

We also organize dive trips to other countries, giving you a chance to get involved in their planning and marketing, and possibly even taking part in some of the future trips. Our latest one was a liveaboard excursion to the Maldives and we have many more planned for upcoming years!
